Highest Scoring Mare on AHS Tour 2018
We were happy to source this top quality daughter of the influential Hanoverian Stallion of the Year Londonderry for the Quantico program. Laurette exemplifies correct conformation, solid gaits, and big ring expression along with a performance proven mareline. With a dose of Thoroughbred refinement through the top side of her pedigree, she also combines the blood of important foundation sires Wolkentanz I, Argentan, and Donnerhall. At her AHS Mare Inspection in 2018, Laurette was given 9s on head, neck, typiness and femininity and 8s on frame, legs, conformation, walk, trot, and overall impression. She was named the Bari von Buedingen Memorial Trophy recipient for having the highest mare inspection score of the year with an 8.16.
Laurette brings abundant type, a very good walk, and an always active hindleg to modern sporthorse breeding. She has produced very good colts by Secret, Gørklintgårds Shaolin, and Franziskus that have each been sold into development homes. She had a lovely, long-legged colt by the Grand Prix stallion Franklin in 2024 that was designated as a Gold Medal Foal by the American Hanoverian Society.
In the Pedigree
Sire Londonderry was Licensing Champion in Verden in 1997, Bundeschampion of the Four-Year Old Riding Horses in 1999, and competed through Intermediaire I level. He routinely had high FN values for riding horse qualities and type and sired a number of stallion sons, including licensing and performance test champion Liberty Gold, full brothers Locksley I and Locksley II, and auction price highlight Londontime. A number of up and coming performance horses boast Londonderry as damsire, including double World Young Horse Champion D'Avie and World Young Horse Bronze Medal winning and now PSG successful Fürsten-Look.
Laurette comes from the breeding program of JoAnn and Dale Thomas, also the breeders of EM Lucette, 2010 Bari von Buedingen Memorial Trophy Winner and Reserve Champion of the Dr. Hartwig Prize for Best North American-Bred Young Mare. Both of these mares stem back to EM Aluette, who finished a very good mare performance test with 8s on gaits and 9/10 on jumping. This mareline also brought World Champion Duvalier, the approved stallion Sarotti Mocca-Sahne, and the Danish Olympic Horse and Triple Crown Young Horse Champion Selten HW.
