A Top Class Ballerina with a Highly Interesting Pedigree
A super young mare by the noted breeding stallion and performance horse Franklin and out of the Special Premium and Elite Stute Rhosemary by Rosentanz. This was a purposeful blending of modern KWPN breeding with classical German rideability, and we think we have achieved our intended goals. Named a Gold Medal foal with the American Hanoverian Society, she is correct in her conformation with a harmonious topline, has beauty for days, and super movement. Completely free of Sandro Hit, Vivaldi, and Jazz blood, she offers an interesting outcross pedigree for today's popular sire lines.
Frida Kahlo was very successful at breed shows in 2022. At Dressage at Lexington, she won the Hanoverian IBC class, was named Champion Filly, Champion Young Horse, and overall Grand Champion with an 81.9%. At Dressage at Devon, she again won the Hanoverian IBC class with a huge score of 85.95%, won the Two-Year-Fillies class, was Filly Champion, Reserve Young Horse Champion, as well as highest placing Hanoverian. She had multiple scores above 8, including 9s for head/neck, trot, and overall impression. A born show horse that loves to wear ribbons!
At our 2024 American Hanoverian Society inspection, Frida Kahlo was entered in to the main marebook with an overall 8 score. Her individual scores included 9s for head and typiness and femininity and 8s for neck, saddle position, frame, conformation, trot, walk, and overall impression. This is the third mare that our program has presented for an overall 8 or above. Started under saddle in the Spring of 2023, she is forward-thinking with above average gaits under the rider.

In the Pedigree
Sire Franklin was Champion of the 2013 KWPN Licensing, winner of his stallion performance test in Holland, and a finalist at the World Young Horse Championships. Now successful to Grand Prix level himself, Franklin has also gained notoriety as an important sire for modern Dressage breeding. His offspring include Reserve Licensing Champions Franklin's Love PS and Kadans, the Champion Filly in Danish Warmblood in 2016 and 2017, and a number of foal auction price highlights. In 2022, the Franklin son Fendi posted the record score of 79.9% under Olympian Sönke Rothenberger to win the Louisdor Cup Finals for Developing Grand Prix horses.
The dam Rhosemary was designated an Oldenburg Mare of Distinction based on her performance test and inspection scores and was later named Elite based on her production record. She is sired by the Small Tour successful stallion Rosentanz and out of Elite Stute Fhlora, a daughter of World Young Horse Champion Fürst Heinrich. Fhlora herself is a maternal half-sister to the highly popular breeding stallion, Bundeschampion, and Grand Prix confirmed Callaho's Benicio.
